NH NongHyup Bank Prioritizes Global Profit in Strategy Meeting
The GIB Division of NH NongHyup Bank announced that it held a global business strategy video conference on Feb. 11, with managers of seven overseas branches in corporate and investment banking regions, including London, New York, and Hanoi.
Following Bank President Kang Tae-young’s earlier video conference with overseas branch managers in January, where he designated 2026 as the inaugural year of profit-centered global business and shared three key strategies—strengthening profitability, AX-based management, and conducting business based on fundamental principles—this meeting was organized to review specific implementation strategies. Department heads from IB and project financing also participated to strengthen collaboration between the head office and overseas branches.
NongHyup Bank is pursuing differentiated global strategies tailored to the characteristics of each region. The CIB region (New York, Hong Kong, London, Sydney) is pursuing investment banking, including prime IB loan deal sourcing and offshore financing in the Asian region, while the corporate banking region (Hanoi, Beijing, Noida) is strengthening domestic and international linked business operations and seeking infrastructure development opportunities. Additionally, the Hong Kong and London branches, located in international financial centers, are strengthening their roles as foreign currency fund intermediation hubs for the bank.
Min Byung-do, Deputy President of the GIB Division, said, “For global business to establish itself as a core profit pillar of NongHyup Bank, region-specific customized business models and substantial revenue-generating capabilities are crucial,” adding, “We will strengthen field-oriented business operations to prove our performance by designating this year as the inaugural year for establishing profit-centered global management.”
Meanwhile, NongHyup Bank opened an overseas branch in London, UK in July last year and is currently operating 11 overseas branches in eight countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Vietnam, India, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
