Amp’s Auto LLC has opened at 4755 Beverly Pike, offering brake repair, engine diagnostics, oil changes, transmission repair, mobile mechanics and more.

BEVERLY — A new automotive shop in Beverly wants to provide both quality and affordability to customers.

Located at 4755 Beverly Pike, Amp’s Auto LLC, owned by husband and wife Austin and Chasity Podach, offers brake repair, engine diagnostics, oil changes, transmission repair, mobile mechanics and more.

When asked why they decided to open an auto shop, Austin, who has been a mechanic for 10 years, said he enjoys the work and helping people out. Chasity had a more straightforward response.

“We were tired of making rich people richer,” Chasity told The Inter-Mountain. “We wanted to bring affordability to the auto industry because everyone around here is kind of expensive. We also wanted to work for ourselves.”

Chasity explained that a customer of Austin’s, Jason Eaves, was the one to suggest they start a business of their own, and one day Austin fell asleep and when he woke up, Chasity told him they now owned an LLC.

Starting off as just a mobile mechanic for three months, the Podachs saved up enough money for their new shop at the former Champion Auto on the Beverly Pike. They’ve been in their new location for around two months.

Amp’s Auto offers service seven days a week and caters to every customers’ schedule, even staying open later for those who can’t pick up their car during normal business hours.

The shop also offers workplace oil changes where they can meet customers at their place of work and change their oil right then and there. Mobile mechanics is a sizable part of the shop’s business.

“We just popped out five oil changes in Buckhannon,” Chasity said. “(Austin) will do anything on-site he can as long as he doesn’t need the lift.”

The shop has already started to gain a loyal customer base as well, with Eaves explaining that he won’t go anywhere else for car work.

“(Austin) was quick, fast,” Eaves told The Inter-Mountain. “Response time was quick. My truck, my wife’s van and my son’s truck… our cars won’t go anywhere else but here.”

Austin and Chasity said business has been so good that they are at the point where they may have to hire another mechanic to accommodate all the requests. When asked about the future of the business, Chasity said they had talked about big plans.

“I’d like to do a franchise-type thing,” Chasity said. “I know we talked about opening one in Canaan over the next few years because Canaan doesn’t have any shops, especially not a mobile mechanic. We’ve also talked about the Morgantown area, but that’s in a couple years. We have to make sure we’re good here, but if this keeps going the way it is, I definitely would like to branch out.”

Amp’s Auto also partners with Blessed Hands Mobile Detailing and More, with Blessed Hands occasionally using the Amp’s Auto garage for their car detailing work.
