MISD ‘Education and Training’ program students advance to state competition

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – More than 40 students enrolled in Midland ISD’s Education and Training program have qualified for the “Teach Tomorrow Summit” scheduled for Galveston in Spring 2025, according to a release from the school district.
Students from Midland High School, Midland Freshman High School, Legacy High School, Legacy Freshman High School, and Coleman High School competed with 350 students from across West Texas at the Texas Association of Future Educators Area Conference in Levelland last weekend.
Every MISD student who participated advanced to the state competition, the district said. This includes 15 students from Legacy student. This includes 15 students from Legacy students from LHS, 13 students from MHS, six from Midland Freshman, three from Legacy Freshman, and four from CHS.
MISD releases new renderings of planned high school campuses
Two students, Abigail Gutierrez, from MHS, and Aailya Martinez, from CHS, advanced in multiple categories. Two students from Coleman High School, Aaliyah Martinez and Mariana Serrano, were named TAFE Area Officers for 2025-26. Current Officer Addyson Garcia, from MHS and her team were commended for creating a memorable and impactful experience for all participants.
