Alfa Romeo GTA Restomod Is An Overpowered Twin-Turbo Slice Of Automotive Art
Totem Automobili may have gained renown for its gorgeous electric conversions of classic Alfa Romeos, but the Italian company also dabbles in making GT Supers powered by internal combustion engines. In fact, its latest creation, the Hestia, is restomod perfection, based on the Alfa Romeo GTA. This one has a slightly smaller engine than the Giulia Quadrifoglio, but it’s also got far more power.
Alfa Romeo
Originally founded in 1910 as Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (A.L.F.A.), Alfa Romeo is an Italian automaker of some renown, having been the brand where Enzo Ferrari plied his trade as a racer and racing manager. Alfa Romeo was formalized in 1920 and became a strong force in motorsport and sporty luxury vehicles, becoming the first F1 Constructors’ Champions in 1950. After changing hands on more than a few occasions over the last 50 years, Alfa Romeo is now under the ownership of Stellantis.

The Ikea-sounding moniker, Hestia, was chosen by its American owner “to represent warmth, beauty, and tradition.” Like its previous work on GT Supers, the company keeps the essence of the GTA with its original shape and form, including those vintage-looking wheels, but modernized to perfection and showered with carbon fiber.
Carbon Fiber Galore
The highlight of every Totem GT Super creation is the use of carbon fiber all over the vehicle. Outside, the matte carbon fber trim painted in a satin nickel tint. Open the clamshell hood and you’ll find an engine bay adorned with the lightweight material. The cabin’s also extensively showered with the precious composite material, but with a an intricate diamond-pattern weave that shifts dynamically depending on the viewing angle.

The genius behind this Evo II-inspired build goes beyond what’s under the hood.
What we love about this GT Super is its exterior paint that pays homage to the classic Alfa GTA. It’s painted in a striking shade of metallic red – triple layered for good measure. The bespoke interior is also equally gorgeous and refined, featuring black Nappa leather complemented by custom-made fabric inserts to go with the carbon fiber trims.
No. 7 Out Of 40
The Hestia is powered by a twin-turbo 2.8-liter V6, developed by Italtecnica exclusively for Totem Automobili. Other specs weren’t mentioned in the presser, but remember that the company previously borrowed a Ferrari mill from a modern Alfa Romero Giulia GTA. What we know this time is that this engine sends 640 horsepower to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with an awesome open-gate shifter.

These exquisite second-generation Corvettes look relatively stock, but they’re packing loads of power and gorgeous interiors.
Totem Automobili revealed the Hestia during JP Morgan’s exclusive 40×40 event held at Place Vendôme in Paris. It’s the seventh in the line of 40 GT Super restomods that the company has earmarked to produce. Pricing, however, wasn’t disclosed, but we’re waging the bespoke nature of this build does warrant a very steep price tag.
